Lakes, April 2024. Day 3.

Breakfast and morning chores completed, we headed out to try and change our empty gas cylinder. A futile trip as it turned out as all three places I visited had none. I hope that we don't finish up taking it home to change it like we did last time. There must surely be calor gas in the Lake District. We used the opportunity, however, to visit Lakeland and do some shopping in Booths. Once home we lunched on Booth's pork pie and then hunkered down out of the gale and rain. At one point we thought that the wind had eased enough to put the awning up. We were wrong and abandoned the attempt and piled it all in the car and retired yet again. After tea we went down to the quiz in the Whistling Pig with Nigel and Jackie coming a respectable 5th only 3 points behind the winners.
