Despite my back still being very painful, we were determined to make the most of the day so fuelled up on paracetamols we headed for nearby Halecat Nursery at Witherslack. Although still cool, the sky cleared and the sun came out and it felt warm in sheltered spots. We love this nursery as it is as much garden as nursery and is continually developing. The quality of the plants is excellent and we indulged ourselves.Having spent our pennies we headed across to the other side of the Kent Estuary to Arnside, another favourite location for a late lunch at the excellent new cafe and bar, JJ Crossfield in an old property of that name. After exploring our favourite haunts it was time to head back to the site after an excellent day.
