A Frosty Woodland Walk

After a mild winter so far the last few days have been clear and bright and yesterday we had quite a hard frost, although in Grimsby temperatures have barely got to zero.  What we have had, though, is extremely high pressure air, up to 1050 mb today, the highest since 1958.  On Sunday we took Jet out for a walk in Willingham woods, enjoying the bright sun and hard frost on shady areas.

Not One, But Two Jet Walks

We had arranged to meet some friends for afternoon tea at Sunnyside Farm Teashop just outside Market Rasen today and decided to combine it with walking Jet.  However, we left it too late to get in a good walk first so gave Jet a quick run before tea and then a longer one afterwards in Walesby Woodlands.  The weather was delightful; warm and sunny enough for us to be able to enjoy tea outside.  What a difference  a week makes.  Only a few days previously Brian and I had been cycling in cold and freezing wintry showers.

Early Autumn Colour in the Wolds and a Perfect Sunset.

After a busy day photographing in Cleethorpes, it was time to take Jet for a walk.  We opted for Willingham Woods on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and close to Market Rasen as we thought there might be some early Autumn colour.  We were in luck as some trees were beginning to turn nicely to deep amber, gold and reds.  We also found an abundance of blackberries so picked another pie's worth before heading for home.  By this time the sun was sinking fast and I managed to capture some very pleasing sunset images.
