Canna Lilly and Morning Glory

 Canna Lilly and Morning Glory

I am absolutely that one of our canna Lilleys is looking very healthy and is flowering in its second year.  Heather has also planted some morning glory plants that she has grown from seed and they are climbing up through the clematis montan outside the conservatory.  It is fascinated the way they flower first thing in the morning but are dead before the end of the day.  Real morning glories.

Early Morning in the Garden

Garden Foxgloves in the Early Morning Light

Our foxgloves are coming into bloom nicely now.  As they are naturally plants of woodland and shade we try to grow them down in our woodland glade and fernery.  They do, however, insist on seeding themselves in the patio instead of where we want them so we are constantly having to carefully lift the seedlings and replant them.  Last year I collected the seed and planted it in seed trays and we had more seedlings than we knew what to do with.  We have transplanted loads in the garden and, hopefully, they will flower next year.

Foxgloves in the Garden

Foxgloves in the Garden

I needed to go to the doctors for a blood test on Monday morning but before I went I managed to photograph our foxgloves.  Early morning is the only time that it is possible, as, at other times, they are in the shade.

Our Clematis Piilu Comes Into Flower.

Our double clematis piilu has just come into flower so I took advantage of a morning in to photograph it.

The Garden after a Night of Rain.

After 3mm of rain last night, the garden looked much fresher.  I began my day taking some garden photographs.  It is looking lovely.
