A late summer walk along one of our favourite routes. Starting in Wold Newton it leads up through the Vally Wood dropping to Beesby before climbing up to the high point of Stock Furlong Wood with wonderful views out to the coastal Marsh and sea and inland over the Wolds.
A first visit to this amazing garden tucked away in the back streets of Louth. Well Worth a visit.
Having had our Pickwell Birthday celebrations for Heather and Beth and Bet and Ale's yesterday, Beth Heather and myself set out in perfect weather to walk along Froggatt and Curbar Edges returning via the higher White Edge. Conditions were perfect: warm sun, blue skies and heather and gorse in their prime. A splendid day topped off with a pint in The Grouse.
It is always a pleasure to catch a glimpse of the resident sparrowhawks in the churchyard of St Giles, Scartho. They even hunt as far away as our house and we witness the occasional flyby or kill. This year, however, the birds have nested in the churchyard and successfully raised three young. It was a joy on 18th August to spend an hour with them trying to capture some images.
