Early Morning at Bonby.

Any day now the wheatears must be back at Bonby so I set out at first light this morning to check it out.  There was a slight mist in the Ancholme Valley as I approached along the top of the Wolds, but this was soon burnt of by the sun which glinted on the pools on the water meadows.  Sadly no sign of any migrants as yet and it was all very quiet, although there were 7 avocet present this morning and I found a very cooperative kestrel.

As I was driving through the village on my way home I was pleased to spot a patch of white violets:-
