Lincolnshire Wolds Cycle Ride.

Having arrived home from Scotland yesterday, unpacked and recovered somewhat from the exertions, it was time for a gentle bike ride with Heather, today, as the weather was just perfect.  Rode out from home (Scartho) to Barnoldby and then a circuit round Beelsby and Hatcliffe back to Barnoldby and home the same way.  Scotland may have been majestic and I can't wait to get back, but there is nothing to beat the Lincolnshire Wolds on a bright and breezy June day.  The countryside is looking absolutely perfect at the moment with its fresh greens and the fields and verges studded with flowers.  As is usually the case these days, we spotted a pair of buzzards wheeling over our heads.  I remember a time, not so long ago when it would have been impossible to see buzzards in Lincolnshire and now they are a common sight.I missed the little owls on the way home though, where I have photographed them in the past.  Perhaps they have moved on.

Below, two versions of the same scene.  The Lincolnshire Wolds near Hatcliffe. Not sure which I prefer.
