Plenty of Activity at the Feeding Station.
As I needed to check on the feeders at the woodyard feeding station I decided to have an hour in the hide to see what was around. There was yet again plenty of activity and the number of long tailed tits has risen from a couple to over half a dozen. Greenfinches were enjoying the sunflower seeds and squabbling noisily. There were an incredible 7 blackbirds around at one time. I think that with a mild winter last year and a good spring and summer, most birds must have had a very successful breeding season leading to large numbers of small birds this year. Good to see. Unusually there was no sign of the woodpeckers today.
