THURSDAY 5th November
A frustrating drive down to Stansted this
morning in dull misty conditions. We decided to drive down cross country to Colsterworth, but it is a slow
road and we were beset by slow traffic.
To make matters worse there were holdups on the A1 and M11 with traffic
queuing to get off at Peterborough and the A14 for Harwich and Felixstowe. However, we arrived at the airport nicely in
time to have a coffee and browse the duty free before it was time to board the plane.
The flight went quickly although there was
total cloud cover until well over Spain. The two national parks and lakes/reservoirs just before Seville looked
interesting.
The bus journey into Seville was quick and
straightforward and we were soon enjoying a beer and wine in San Eloy
underneath one of the many heavily laden orange trees. While waiting for Beth we enjoyed pottering
around and taking night photos of Las Setas and the Giralda. It was fantastic to meet up with Beth and
head through the narrow winding streets to her small but very attractive flat
for a meal of pasta and an early night.
