It was much warmer today at 20C and sunny after yesterday's rain and cold. The main object of the day was to meet up with Beth for a walk for which it is excellent. I couldn't resist packing the camera, though, in the hopes of nightingale. I knew the location for the nightingales and I also had had reports that they had been singing all morning. Despite spending some time in the location, however, they had stopped performing. Just as well, really, as my camera battery was flat and the spare was in the car; a fact that my daughter found highly amusing. As it happened, though despite there being plenty of birds about there were virtuall no photographic opportunities, my only success being with a green-veined white butterfly.
