An Avocet Search.

A warm overcast day and experiencing withdrawal symptoms from lack of bird photography I decided to vist Killingholme Haven Pits, a Lincs Trust Reserve, to see whether the avocets had bred again.  The water levels were low and there were vitually no birds; very disappointing.  I only managed 1 little egret, 1 avocet, 1 shelduck, 2 blackheaded gulls, a pair of tufted duck, 1 reed warbler, 1 sedge warbler and wood pigeons.
Later in the day we had thunderstorms and torrential rain.
I include below some images from previous years.
