Andalucia, April 2018. Day 2

The following morning dawned bright sunny and warm with the sun blazing into the flat and the sound of children playing in the local school playground.  We began our day by catching the bus to Triana, the old gypsy quarter of Seville over the river, for coffee and cake in a quiet cafe before heading to the old market of Triana by the side of the river.  We love markets and I had a happy hour wandering the aisles with my camera before we met up at a small bar for sherry and olives and a very enjoyable conversation trying out our embryonic Spanish with a local.  We pottered along the river and then through the old city past the cathedral to meet up with Beth at the Language Academy where she works.  We were fascinated with American students who were practising their dancing ready for Feria (the local flamenco festival) starting at the weekend.  Heather also enjoyed trying on flamenco dress.  The views from the roof of the academy were superb.  Next up was a beer in the sun before a meal near the cathedral and then an evening in the excellent Naima Jazz bar.  Well worth a visit if staying in Seville.
