Lake District, March 2018. Day 1 Monday 26th March

Monday morning saw Heather and I heading north to the Lakes on a beautifully spring-like morning.  We had had a remarkably sooth getaway considering the previous week had been taken up with my degree show exhibition and we had had guests staying over the weekend. We had a good journey, making good time despite a hold-up at Lancaster, and enjoyed our first sighting of flowering coltsfoot on the motorway verges.  We were soon settled into the caravan and enjoying being back for our first visit of the year.  Goat or pussy willow was coming into flower and we enjoyed watching the buzzard soaring over the woods.  It was good to be back.
