Searching for Small Skippers on the Horsefield

Searching for Small Skippers on the Horsefield

A warm but overcast afternoon with good spells of sunshine.  Walking across there was a scent of warm and damp greenness.  Lovely.  I had hoped to find small skippers which are emerging now but no luck.  There were good numbers of other species, though:
  • Small tortoiseshell
  • Small heath
  • Meadow Brown
  • Large skipper
  • A few speckled wood
  • Common blue 3
  • Mother Shipton's moth 2
Found a very large party of long tailed tits.
