Buzzard and Roe Deer on the Patch

Less snow today and more sun and feeling warmer as it was a more gentle wind.  It was still cold, however, as it was only 1/2C.  Heather and I began in the cemetery as usual but today left via the crematorium and crossed the busy Peaks Parkway to reach the farm tracks behind the YMCA.  We made our way round to Peaks Tunnel but then carried on past the site of Peaks Tunnel Farm and crossed the road again to reach Low Farm.

Checking for deer which are regular on the fields here I spotted a buzzard on some scrubby ground between Low farm and the Horsefield.  It settled in the top of the hawthorn and, despite being distant, gave good views.  Checking again for deer I was delighted to find two roe deer does at the bottom of the same hedge.  One was busy feeding, the other lying down with head up relaxing in the sun.  A pleasing find at the end of the walk.
