France May/June 2016 Day 7. Afternoon in La Plus Beaux Village de France.

Just before we went off this afternoon we chatted to Madame le Camping about orchids and she has pointed us in the direction to some good hunting grounds for tomorrow and also to a fine specimen of a lizard orchid beside the petanc pitch where we have played many a game of boules on long lazy summer days past.  Unfortunately it is only JUST coming into flower.  Fingers crossed!!!  We enjoyed our potter round Charroux and the praline ice cream was to die for.  One reason for the visit was to buy some of the excellent moutarde de Charroux and a shot of the mustard seed press is included.  On the way back we called in for a look at Chateau Rochefort and then returned for a BBQ.  When we arrived back at the site the air temperature was 24 degrees C and the sun temperature 30!!  Bliss.  Just finishing coffee and a digestif before the washing up then a night cap and then bed.  Orchids tomorrow – fingers crossed.

  1. Question answered about the temperature. Love the stained glass windows and the pan tiles!
