Another day of clear blue skies and sun. Cold and frosty again at 4C. An excellent walk with 22 bird species plus grey squirrel and a wonderful view of a fox as it confidently crossed the path in front of me and left the burial ground into the Horsefield. Birding highlights were the green woodpecker calling as I entered the cemetery and the small flock of redwing foraging in the leaf litter. A buzzard wheeled on thermals high in the sky above the crematorium and a curlew called as it flew across. Hazel was in bloom, both male catkins and female flowers.
