Although a beautiful day again at Bonby with not a sound other than bird song and the gentle soughing of the breeze, there was little activity on the migrant front. There were plenty of resident birds but not many perched up to enable photography, although a female kestrel was cooperative. I did get my first confident sighting of a couple of swallows skimming over the Ancholme, though, and was able to watch a pair of distant hares boxing. As always it was very pleasant to be down here.
